The Dress and a Doctor
Finally I have managed to find a few hours in which to reacquaint myself with my sewing machine after several months in the Panamanian jungle. After a few consultations of the manual and conducting some testers on some scrap material I finally managed to get started on my dress and above you can see the result - I must admit I am rather pleased!
This dress was based on a Simplicity pattern designed by Cynthia Rowley which I was inspired to get after seeing the results that Tilly and the Buttons produced a few months back. It was definitely the most complex pattern I have every attempted - never done gathering before - but finishing it was so satisfying.
What makes this dress even more special was the occasion in which it had its first outing. After 4 long years of extremely hard work my partner Lawrence finally graduated from his PhD this week and this dress was the perfect outfit for the occasion. So to finish this post I simply want to congratulate the new Dr Bellamy and to say how proud we all are of his great achievements.
Until next time...
Emily
